What to include in a report
The app has no analytics and no crash reporting, so your message is the only information we get. If something is not working, these three things make it far more likely we can reproduce it:
- The app version, from Settings → About → Version.
- Your iPhone model and iOS version.
- What you did, what you expected, and what happened instead.
Using Contact support inside the app fills in the first two for you.
Partner mode cannot find the other phone
Partner mode connects two iPhones directly, with no server in between, so both sides have to be looking for each other at the same time. Check that:
- Both phones have Intuition Check open, and both are on the Partner game screen.
- Wi-Fi is on for both. They do not have to be on the same network, but being on the same one is the most reliable — otherwise keep them close together.
- You allowed the app to find devices on your local network. If you declined that prompt, turn it back on in iOS Settings → Intuition Check → Local Network.
- Neither phone is on a guest or captive network that blocks device-to-device traffic. Many hotel, café and office networks do.
If a phone appears under "Seen nearby" but never connects, leave the partner screen on both devices and enter it again — that restarts discovery from scratch.
Both phones are called "iPhone"
iOS reports a generic device name to apps, so two phones can look identical in the list. Once you are connected, tap the pencil next to the partner's name and give them a nickname. It is stored on your device only, and it is used from then on.
The free hour, and what happens after it
The app is free to download and includes one hour of in-app time. That hour is counted only while you are actually using the app, and it adds up across all your sessions — no clock runs while the app is closed or in the background.
After that, a subscription keeps it going: $0.99 per month in your local currency, with the first month free. You can subscribe at any time from Settings → Subscription → Subscribe. The subscription is shared through Family Sharing, so up to five family members can use it.
Managing, cancelling, or getting a refund
Subscriptions are billed by Apple, not by us, so they are managed in your Apple Account: iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Cancelling there stops future renewals and keeps your access until the current period ends.
Refunds are also handled by Apple. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We have no access to your payment details and cannot issue a refund ourselves — but do write to us as well if something went wrong, because that is the only way we find out about it.
Restoring a purchase on a new phone
For the subscription, open Settings → Subscription and, on the subscription screen, tap Restore purchases. For a ready-made set you bought before, open Guess sets → + → Ready-made sets and tap Restore purchases there. Both also bring back purchases made by a family member who shares with you.
Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account that made the purchase.
Where your guess sets and statistics are kept
Everything lives on your device, inside the app's own private storage — your image sets and your settings. Recorded rounds stay in memory for the current session by default and clear when you quit; turn on Save statistics on device in Settings to keep them across launches. The app sends none of it off your device — and we run no servers that could receive it.
This means two things worth knowing. If you back up your iPhone, those files travel with the backup like any other app's data. And if you delete the app, they are deleted with it and we cannot recover them for you. To keep a copy of an image set independently, open the set and use the share button to export it as a .guesset file.
A ready-made set shows no price
Prices come from the App Store, so a set can show no price if the device is offline or signed out of the App Store. Check your connection, make sure you are signed in, and reopen the screen. If it persists, write to us with the set name.
Privacy
The app collects nothing at all — no accounts, no analytics, no telemetry, no third-party SDKs. The full details are in the privacy policy. Email you send us is ordinary correspondence: we keep it only as long as it takes to answer you.
