An app by Uniconduct
A simple, private app for testing and training your intuition, on iPhone, iPad and Macs with Apple silicon. Practise your gut feeling with cards, numbers, or images — solo, or with a partner nearby.
Before you read too much into it
Your results can shift with your state and your circumstances, so it helps to know what might be in play before you read too much into any single number. None of the following is a settled fact — they are possibilities worth noticing as you experiment.
You might do differently just after waking, late at night before sleep, rested or tired, calm or stressed. Note your state in the main view as you play, and the statistics compare your rounds by state and by time of day — so you can see whether there's a pattern for you.
Feeling sure of yourself, or full of self-doubt, could line up with how you score. Confidence is one of the states you can note before a round, so it's one more thing to watch for as your rounds add up.
Landing right noticeably less often than random guessing would predict is also a departure from chance — one reading is that intuition is working against you in that moment, rather than that nothing is happening.
There's another pattern worth watching: the values themselves. When choosing, people often lean toward some values and avoid others — rarely as evenly as they imagine. And you might find you guess some values right far more often than others — and some almost never — even ones you pick just as much. One reading is that intuition can favour or avoid particular values on its own, apart from what you choose. The app's per-value breakdown lets you see both — how often you pick each value as your guess, and how often each is guessed right.
What it does
Choose a guess set — cards, numbers, one of the ready-made sets, or one of your own. Take your guess. Reveal the value and see whether you were right. Repeat. Or switch to Quick pick: every value of the set laid out in one grid — tap your guess. Or, in active mode, play a Series: will one value, and a single tap draws a whole run of random values to score against it.
Two modes. In passive, the value is chosen before you look — try to read it. In active, nothing is chosen until you reveal — try to will it into being.
Two devices find each other automatically. The same Wi-Fi network gives the steadiest link at any range; with no shared network, keep the devices close and they connect directly. One person picks, the other guesses.
Choose 36- or 52-card decks. Numbers from a single digit up to 9 digits — 1 to 999,999,999. Keep several guess sets side by side, each with its own settings.
Build guess sets from your own photos — added from your photo library, camera, or Files — and try to sense which picture comes up.
Mark each round correct or wrong — or enter your guess before the reveal — and see how often you're right compared to pure chance, your best streaks, and trends over time.
Send an image set straight to your partner's device during a partner game, or export it as a file and share it by AirDrop, Messages, or Mail.
Instead of one value at a time: every value of the set laid out in one grid — tap your guess. Each tap is its own round; a correct tap lights up green.
In active mode, will one value and let a single tap draw a whole series of random values — from 2 to 10 million — scored against it. Set the length on the main view and the pace in Settings; each series goes into your statistics as one entry.
A correct guess can flash green and buzz — a quick, satisfying signal that you were right, with no extra taps. Turn either on or off.
Hide every control for a calm, distraction-free session — just you and the reveal. Touch and hold anywhere to bring the controls back.
See how many rounds you have played and how you are doing right on the main view — one count and result per mode and play style, with a reset button. Turn on Save round counts and results in Settings → Statistics to keep them between launches.
Every feature added in recent versions has its own switch in Settings → Features. Switched off, it disappears from the main view, Settings and the statistics filters — nothing you recorded is deleted.
Ready-made sets
You don't have to supply your own pictures to get started. Five ready-made image sets ship inside the app — including the classic Zener cards.
Adding one gives you your own copy, and from then on it behaves like any other guess set: rename it, leave images out of the guessing, reorder them, send the set to a partner, or export it as a file.
Each set also carries its own “?” cover — shown below with a dashed outline — which is what you see while the value is still hidden. It is never one of the answers.
Statistics
Every round you mark turns into data. Instead of just counting hits, the app compares your results to the exact odds a random guesser would face for the same number of possible values — and tells you, in plain language, whether you are genuinely ahead or still within what chance would give.
Your hit rate is shown next to what guessing at random would score with the same number of possible values. The same 30% can mean opposite things: with 3 possible values, random guessing gets about 33%, so 30% is slightly below chance; with a 52-card deck, random guessing gets about 2%, so 30% is far above it.
A plain-language verdict — from “Consistent with chance” to “Far above chance” or “Far below chance” — with the rarity spelled out: a result this strong happens about 1 in X times by chance alone.
Your longest runs of consecutive hits, each with the day and time it happened and the state you had noted during it. You decide how long a pause is allowed before a streak counts as broken.
A day-by-day hit-rate chart, so you can see whether you are actually improving — or just remembering your good days. A separate breakdown by time of day shows when you tend to do best.
Passive (reading a value already chosen) and active (willing one into being) are scored separately, so you can tell which one you are better at.
Which values you pick most and least often — including any you never pick — and which you guess right most often: enough to spot patterns you did not know you had.
Privacy first
Intuition Check does not collect any personal data. There are no accounts and no analytics. Your settings and your photos are saved locally on your device, and your guess statistics are kept between launches only if you choose to save them — off by default.
In the partner game, your device uses Apple's Network framework to talk directly to the other device over the local network. The data exchanged is limited to the device name the operating system reports and a random identifier for this installation, the round state (value chosen, guess made, reveal) — and, if you play with one of your image sets, the set itself, sent directly to your partner's device. The app sends none of it to us — and we run no servers that could receive it.

Pricing
Intuition Check is free to download and comes with 1 hour of in-app time to try the whole app — the Zodiac set is a separate purchase. That hour counts only while you are actually using the app, and it adds up across all your sessions — no clock runs while the app is closed. If it runs out before you have decided, the subscription view lets you reset the counter for another hour, up to 3 times — 4 hours of free time in all.
To keep playing after that, there is one subscription with two plans, monthly or yearly. The subscription view shows the price of each plan, and Apple asks you to confirm it before anything is charged. It is Family Sharing–enabled, so you and up to five family members can use it. You can cancel it at any time in the app, under Settings → Subscription → Manage subscription, or on iPhone and iPad in the Settings app: Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions.
The subscription covers the whole app — both modes, your own guess sets and the free ready-made ones, partner play and statistics. Subscriptions with additional features may be added in the future; everything this subscription includes stays included.
